It’s awesome stuff. And each of these new businesses is now a part of The Photobooth People Rental Network, a network stretching across Australia to ensure that our clients, both sales and rentals, can tap into a wealth of information. As with every special life event, returning to reality was difficult, so receiving the DVD really alleviated our post wedding blues. We highly recommend having the booth operational after dinner and a few special bubbles have been consumed; it made for some hilarious poses and loads of pashing! We have since visited some of our guests at their homes, and have noticed their photo keepsakes framed or hanging on their fridges.

Two months!

That’s only 62 days left!!

I honestly can’t believe how quickly time has flown. It seems like only yesterday that Paul and I set the wedding date and had ‘plenty of time’ to go.
I spoke with an Aunty of mine tonight and told her that I wished time would slow down just a little. Not because I feel under pressure to get everything done, but because I am really enjoying this whole planning a wedding business. Planning the wedding with Paul has so far been such an enjoyable, and, believe it or not, stress free process. We’ve agreed on almost everything, and where we haven’t agreed, obviously my good judgment and taste has shown him the right way forward (joking Pauly x).

As I’ve said the whole time we’re taking a very laid back approach and to be honest I think this, mixed with a little procrastination, has paid off in a big way. We’ve managed to find some of the best people to help make our dream day a reality and have stumbled across two of them just recently.

Our Celebrant, Lizzy, is a fantastic woman with a great sense of humour who just radiates fun. She had me in tears of laughter the night we met, and if that’s anything to go by I’m sure the ceremony will be unforgettable for us. And Fi, our wedding invitation designer, who had the perfect invitations that were simple and very ‘us’ (plus with Paul’s help on the invite wording I’m sure we’ll get a few gasps from people who don’t know the background story- there’s a sneak peak in the pic below).

Oh and another exciting thing that we have coming up is our ‘lovey dovey’ shoot with our photographers Matt and Katie. I know it’s a chance for them to get to know us, and for us to become comfortable having our photos taken for hours on end - but just quietly I CANNOT wait to have some nice photos of Paul and I. We’re a little camera-lazy in our everyday lives so having two professionals take as many photos of us in a couple of hours that we’ve taken in almost ten years together is such a treat!

So as I knew it would, it’s all coming together and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

Correction…planning a wedding is a lot of fun…planning to PAY for a wedding and trying to maintain a somewhat normal existence is almost impossible, and not in the least bit fun.

But in between those thoughts of “should I really be buying this or putting the money aside for the wedding”, come absolutely wonderful moments that make you realise why you’re putting yourself through it all in the first place.

I had one of those moments last week when I finally found and ordered my wedding dress!! I know, I was starting to get a little worried about finding one too. It was so so hard to find any dresses I liked, let alone one that I loved. Everyone kept telling me that I would “just know” the dress when I found it…and while it wasn’t the Earth moving experience I had been waiting for, when I put it on I did “just know” and it is definitely the perfect dress.

Obviously I can’t post a picture for everyone to see (just in case Pauly does actually read this blog when he tells me he does J), but if anyone has overheard me explaining what I was looking for in a dress, this is almost spot on! (If anyone is on the hunt for a dress then you should definitely check out Hilde Heim in Enoggera…p.s. my dress isn’t on the website so you will still have to wait to see what it’s like- sorry).

So another big item checked off the list- only a hundred more to go and with the timeline reaching 4 months to go it’s time I got stuck into organising.

One thing I’m finding very hard to do is choose a colour scheme. I know it seems like a strange thing to have difficulty with, but I really can’t decide. And there are so many things that rely on that colour scheme being chosen- the invites, the table decorations, the reception decorations, the flowers..the list goes on! I love blues and greens, so I think a mix of that would work? What does everyone else think? (and, you can be honest with me here…have I crossed to the dark side? The crazy bride-to-be worrying about a colour scheme? I’m sure it doesn’t matter quite as much as I think it does?).

As always, I’m open to any suggestions…as a first timer in this wedding planning business I’m happy to hear tips, ideas, hints or whatever else you’d like to share J

So, if you want a booth all to yourselves that’s fine (our basic hire), but if you would like an attendant to come along and lend a hand, if you purchase an album or magnet package one of our attendants will look after your guests at no extra charge. And they sure do tend to come in handy, particularly when your guests are trying to sneak off without writing a message in your guest book. Both Jade and Casey are trained ‘attack’ attendants, and will haul your guests back to write in your album – we guarantee it!

PS. No guests at your soiree will be attacked by our attendants. Jedi mind tricks will be used instead :-)

With our January through March fundraiser for the Haiti Earthquake survivors coming to a close, Amy asked us to come on board with a bevy of designers, event planners and photographers to continue championing the cause for our Caribbean friends. And on board we are. As a sponsor of ‘Hope For Haiti – Fashion for a Cause’ we are hoping to help raise $100,000 for the people of Haiti. Believe me fashionistas, they need every last penny.

So without further ado, we would like to invite you to join us for an evening of Fashion, Fabulous Entertainment and Dance at Cloudland, Fortitude Valley on the 12th of July. It will be a fun night filled with the highest level of entertainment, including The Most Sensational Photobooth, with all proceeds going to charity, fashion with a twist and much more. It will be a chance to network, have fun and more importantly, help Haiti.

Please ladies and gents, help us make a difference. Get a group together to support an extremely worthy cause. Buy a ticket. Buy lots of tickets. I said buy LOTS of tickets. Don’t make me come over there!

Luke Bradnam (DRIVE time host at 102.9) performed his Gold Coast hit “Q1 State of Mind” to the crowds delight; the performance included various costumes which eventually had him finishing in a pair of budgie smugglers and a surf lifesaving cap. Mr Warwick Capper was seen enjoying the evening and also took the time to enjoy the photobooth.

The booth was an absolute smash - we had lines all night with most guests returning for a second and third trip. The only time the booth slowed down for a brief moment was when dance band the Potbelleez stepped on stage and sang their chart topping hit ‘Don’t Hold Back’. Overall the night was filled with great music, laughs and fabulous frocks. The staff from 102.9 sure know how to put on a great party :)

I walk under ladders, I open umbrellas inside, and I really quite like black cats.

So the idea that Paul and I couldn’t see each other before the wedding just made no sense to me. Obviously, on our wedding day, I want him to see me after I have gone through the ‘beautification’ process, not midway through. But, I definitely want to see him before our ceremony. I know our wedding day will be full on and with 100 guests or more expected to be there, I don’t see Paul and I getting a great deal of time ‘together’. I think the idea of seeing each other just before the ceremony, to have a chance for a little ‘us’ time will be special. A chance for us to take it all in and have a private moment for ourselves, before our very public display of love for each other.

With less than 7 months to go I have been thinking a lot more about the day. How I want it to look and feel.

There are quite a few things I have planned to do myself, including (but not limited to) the decorations, the invitations, mine and my bridesmaids bouquets and the boys boutonnieres. The more I think about all these things, the more I know I need to get started as soon as possible…free weekends? Not anymore!

My two main reasons for wanting to do all of these things is, firstly, to save myself some money. And, secondly, so that I can add as much of mine and Paul’s personalities into the day as possible. I’m sure I will be doing many a trial run, so will happily share tips and pointers on all the things that worked out well (and all those that failed miserably!).

And finally, with deposits paid, I can reveal the location of our reception…drum roll please…we will be partying on down at St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School! For those who know it, I know you’ll agree it has one of the best views of the Brisbane River and City. For those who don’t, you’ll just have to wait till the wedding day :-)

Oh and as a last little note…I found my shoes!! No dress as yet, but I’m sure that won’t be too far off. I hope you love them as much as I do!
