Tamara’s Wedding Blog - Chapter 1 - Save The Date!

We are thrilled to bits to post the very first instalment of Tamara’s Wedding Blog. Honoured that Tamara accepted our challenge to document her wedding, we’re certain that our other brides and blog-fans will learn bucket-loads as they follow her on her journey from The Proposal to The Big Day. We hope you will find in Tamara and Paul’s story inspiration for your own weddings, and comfort in knowing that someone else is going through a similar - if not identical adventure to you! Thank you Tamara for your candid honesty - we can’t wait for your next post! Emails for Tamara can be fowarded care of: nikki@thephotoboothpeople.com.au. Enjoy!

It’s been just over a month now since Paul proposed and I, very excitedly said yes!

We met nine years ago in a nightclub in Brisbane (yes, a nightclub!) and in our enthusiasm decided to set our date for October next year to mark our ten years together. A nice touch, but the realisation of just how much planning, preparation and money goes into a wedding is starting to set in, and to be honest it’s freaking me out a little. There are so many things I know I need to get organised, like the venue and a dress maker, but all I can think about are the fun little touches that will make for a great day and night (like the photobooth!).

Paul and I aren’t really into the traditional idea of a wedding. I’ve been furiously searching for the last couple of weeks trying to find a nice garden or rainforest area where we will be able to have a great big marquee party to celebrate our day. We’re trying to stick to a pretty tight budget for the day, we want to put on a great day and night for all of our friends and family…but, we also want to have a nice long honeymoon to celebrate the life we’ve built together too (any excuse to see more of the world is ok with me). So if anyone has any ideas about a great venue, that won’t cost us a house deposit just to feed people I’m all ears!

One thing we have organised is our save the dates and I couldn’t be happier with them. It took Paul and I quite a few goes to get the photostrip right (and even then Nikki had to Photoshop the best of each photo for us), but I LOVE them. And if our 15 minutes of fun in the photobooth was anything to go by, I think having the photobooth at our wedding (with a few cocktails under our belts) is going to be even better!

So for now it’s back to planning, I’ll keep you updated on how I go with everything!
Tamara xx
